The Lord's Haven was launched in October 2006 and approved as a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation by the IRS in July 2007. The Lord's Haven was established to provide a peaceful sanctuary for Christian pastors and their families to go to be rejuvenated by the Holy Spirit individually and with each other. Statistics concerning the pastors tell us that they face enormous pressures in today's world. We know that
With these great pressures comes burnout and fatigue. The Lord's Haven attempts to provide relief to these conditions by offering a serene location for their relationship with God and their families to be rekindled. The absence of outside distractions such as telephones, television and computers allow the guests time to reflect and pray to God the Father. The spiritual growth that the pastor and his family experience during their stay can then be passed on to others during their ministry. A pastor is looked upon by many as a standard of moral living in our society. A pastor that is fatigued and weak in the Holy Spirit may be more likely to fall to the temptations of the world than is a pastor who has been renewed and filled with the Lord's Spirit. The Lord's Haven seeks to strengthen the pastor knowing that his one life affects hundreds or thousands of others as he shepherds his flock. Thus, by touching one life, The Lord's Haven touches thousands of lives. Additionally, The Lord’s Haven seeks to encourage all pastors during their day-to-day walk with God. We know that the daily pressures of ministry on a pastor and his family can burden and exhaust them. We strive to encourage pastors to continue their battle and to press on to the end of the race by sending them letters of encouragement and care packages that contain books of refreshment and other small gifts. |
